A New Integrated Remedial Massage + Somatic Bodywork Practice on George Street, East Fremantle

ree
Elijah Forest Therapy is a dedicated sanctuary for deep rest, renewal and gentle, embodied exploration of the body–mind. Located in the heart of George Street, East Fremantle, it offers a safe, rejuvenating space for individuals seeking meaningful therapeutic support, recovery and personal growth.

The practice is based within Nourish Me Wholefoods, a much-loved local health store and café. This authentic, community-focused hub features both indoor seating and an inviting leafy courtyard with grapevines, creating a calm, restorative environment before and after sessions. Tucked just beyond the café are private counselling and therapy rooms, where Elijah offers integrated therapeutic services on Wednesdays and Fridays each week.

Elijah is an embodied practitioner and remedial massage therapist who brings together a unique blend of modalities, including Remedial, Sports, Swedish and Thai massage, alongside somatic bodywork and counselling. Each session is intentional and outcome-focused, designed to support clients to reconnect with their body’s innate wisdom, alleviate pain, tension and restriction, restore functional movement, and cultivate balance, resilience and self-empowerment in daily life.

Remedial Massage, Orthopedic Testing and Active Oils for Function and Performance

Whether you are experiencing pain or tension, recovering from injury or training, seeking increased range of motion and mobility, or simply wanting a deeply restorative full-body treatment, Elijah Forest Therapy offers targeted support to meet your body’s needs.

Using orthopedic testing, musculoskeletal assessment and postural analysis, Elijah tailors each session to address the root cause of pain, dysfunction or restriction, rather than just the symptoms. This clinical and evidence-informed approach, combined with remedial massage, myofascial work, mobilisations and specific stretching techniques, helps to reset, realign and restore the body to more optimal function.

To further support recovery and enhance therapeutic outcomes, clients may choose to incorporate carefully selected botanical oils and balms, such as magnesium salt spray, gold seed hemp oil, and specialised cooling or warming herbal blends. These applications can assist circulation, ease muscular discomfort and promote more efficient recovery between sessions.

The focus is always on meaningful, lasting results. Clients receive honest professional guidance and, where appropriate, a personalised treatment plan aligned with their individual goals—whether that is reducing pain, improving performance, supporting rehabilitation or enhancing overall wellbeing.

Somatic Counselling – A Gentle, Embodied Pathway for Self-Enquiry and Growth

Somatic counselling at Elijah Forest Therapy provides a gentle yet profound pathway for self-enquiry, emotional regulation, awareness and growth. The somatic (body-based) approach invites clients into a deeper relationship with their body’s sensations, breath, posture and movement, as well as the subtle “felt senses” that carry innate information and insight.

Through mindful tracking of sensations, collaborative dialogue, body listening, exploration of felt sense and somatic focusing, clients are supported to tap into self-knowing and clarity. This process can help identify patterns held in the body–mind system, integrate unresolved experiences, release limiting beliefs or attachments, redefine personal boundaries and develop more adaptive, resilient ways of relating to self, others and the world.

Somatic counselling honours the intelligence of the body and recognises that emotional and psychological experiences are not separate from our physical experience, but deeply interwoven with it.

Integrative Therapy – How Embodied Counselling and Massage Work Together

When somatic therapy and massage therapy are combined, they offer a truly holistic framework for healing and integration. Clients can benefit from both the psychological insight and emotional regulation of somatic counselling, and the physiological regulation and relief provided by bodywork.

Emerging research in body–mind psychology, neuroscience and bodywork suggests that intentionally integrating these approaches can lead to more comprehensive and sustained outcomes. Somatic modalities emphasise interoceptive awareness (the ability to sense internal bodily signals), embodied processing and mindfulness, which have been shown to support the reduction and management of stress, anxiety and trauma-related symptoms. In parallel, massage therapy reduces cortisol, improves vagal tone and enhances parasympathetic activation—the “rest and restore” branch of the nervous system.

Together, these processes support a neurobiological environment that fosters integrative healing, improved self-regulation, heightened emotional capacity, mental resilience and overall wellbeing.
